Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and drawing problems, this course introduces the student to Commercial Architectural Drafting using AutoCAD. The Architectural Drafting AutoCAD topics covered in this Level I course include an introduction to AutoCAD features, starting and setting up drawings, point coordinate entry methods, creation of basic 2D drawing objects, layer management, line types and colors, selection sets, object snap modes, AutoSnap, polar tracking, object snap tracking, construction techniques, creating and managing text objects, editing geometry, display control, and drawing inquiry methods. Fundamentally, it has been designed to learn AutoCAD software parallel with the drawing techniques. Therefore, students through the course will explore standard techniques of converting the architectural shapes and forms into plans, Sections, and Elevations. Additionally, they will be able to get the required computer skills for drawing.
