Kawar Salih is an award-winning architect, academic, and researcher. He is currently a PhD student at the University of MATE in Budapest. He previously worked as the director of skills development at the Duhok Polytechnic University and as a visiting lecturer at the American University of Kurdistan. He has MSc. in Sustainable Buildings and Environments from Newcastle University in the UK and BSc. in Architectural Engineering from Duhok University with First Class Honors. Kawar has been awarded Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship for his PhD degree and the HCED scholarship for his MSc degree. Kawar also works with Eng. Heja Ghazi as the founder of HK for architectural design and Construction. He has designed numerous medium- and large-scale buildings in the Kurdistan region. He also has participated in multiple conferences in Europe and the Middle East since 2016. He has several publications on sustainable urban and building design in internationally recognized journals. His research interest focused on low-energy and zero-carbon buildings and BIM.
